Finding My Own Lens On Google

Posted on Jan 20 2008

I just had quite a bizarre experience.

I was searching Google to try and see if there was a blog that existed where the owner just wrote posts about things they wish existed in real life. Kind of like my post here last week wishing the guestbook limit was increased, but for things in every day life. I was thinking “There are TONS of things I wish existed! I wonder if there is a blog like that already being written!”

So I searched Google for I wish this existed …. and guess what the first result was….

A lens *I* made almost a year ago!!!

Well. I was very shocked, I laughed, I froze, and I blinked to check if I had in fact just found my own writing through Google for something I was searching for… and it was true. Of all the people in the world to have written what I found… I found me. And of all the websites… I found Squidoo.

That’s the power of Squidoo alright :)

Lewis

P.S. the lens is HERE.

That is pretty awesome! You know, I think [in addition to Squidoo as a definite amazing], that Google can sometimes be amazing in what search results you get. ;-)

Even today… over 2 years on… my lens is STILL ranking for that phrase.

I still wish I could find that blog I wish existed ;)
