Wooo! SquidZippers, and new category? What have I just found…?!
I was just looking through the different categories on Squidoo and noticed a few new things…

1. There is a new category. Local. My guess is that this is in preparation for a new Squidoo project like SquidWho.com, SquidBids.com, SquidVids.com, and ever.com. What’s missing? A location one! I was thinking SquidWhere.com, but….
2. The domain name SquidZippers.com is linked to at the top of THIS page. See it? But nothing is on the .com yet.
Also, I just found www.squidoo.com/zippers. The box on the page doesn’t work yet, but it’s clear that you will type in your zip code and you make a lens about that location.
So keep an eye on it for the next few days….
I expect a Local/Travel Squidoo site to launch soon… but for US only…
So get those ideas brewing!
Lewis
P.S. Would you like to see Squidoo do more things for international users? Like an amazon.co.uk module? Or make the google maps module work for outside the US? What are you hoping for next?

Keep an eye out for the Weather.com module - it looks very nice, even if I do say so myself. With any luck, you’ll be able to add it to your other lenses too.

I think an Amazon.co.uk would be great, as would maps and weather. I can’t get my eBay.co.uk account to work on Squidbids. Does anyone else have this problem?

I was just getting started on a plain old-fashioned lens for my town, but i think I’ll wait and see what happens with the Zipper program. Did I see a movie listings module too? That will be great with the local lenses.

Okay, so the one thing I can not seem to figure out, is How in the world do you get more traffic to your site?!! LOL
I LOVE Squidoo. I spend a lot of time trying to make good lenses with value and then it’s a ghost town. How do you go from a lens like I make to a popular lens ranking? THAT is what I need to know.
I love your site, I visit it often to find out what other cool things you have found. Thanks Lewis!
