Google and Squidoo… sitting in a tree… K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
For those of you still worried about a ‘Squidoo Slap’, here is something interesting to think about.
With Google, when you search for a person’s name followed by the word age or birthday you will get a little result (from an authority site) at the top that tells you the date of birth.
And here is what Jeff Wend says about his latest lens:
“This is a lens I whipped out quickly and need to put some serious time into with the NFL playoffs here.
This is the first time that Google has treated a lens of mine as The Authority on a search result. See for yourself: http://www.google.com/search?q=eli+mann … 0&sa=N
Google uses this Squidoo lens to answer the search question as the authority!”
You’ll see his lens linked to right at the very top.
With Squidoo as the TRUSTED AUTHORITY SITE.
Google and Squidoo, sitting in a tree… K-I-S-S-I-N-G!

P.S. to make a SquidWho lens that has the same white and grey theme as Jeff’s, head to SquidWho.com.

Now, that is just too cool! Congratulations, Jeff!
When Chuck Norris endorsed Mike Huckabee, I had a few weeks of lots of hits to my who-is-chuck-norris lens with search phrase variables of “how old is chuck norris.” Seems everyone wanted to know that particular Chuck Norris fact!

I’ve long since noticed that squidoo and google are still friends. People seem to have over-reacted when they heard of the slap. I enjoyed this post - it gave evidence to what I suspected but didn’t have concrete proof for.

I just joined up with Squidoo and started making lenses. I have a whole idea for it, but I checked out this article and when I click on the link, the lens didn’t show up in the top 10 result pages. Has something changed possibly?

Hi Jeff,
The lens isn’t one of the normal listings. It’s right there at the top as a pre-result. Right under the search page.

I see it now, I think I missed it because I am so used to skipping past the sponsored ads. (duh on me), thanks!! Great article.
