Boosting Your Referral $$$

Posted on Jul 11 2007

squidoo logo Boosting Your Referral $$$

As a lensmaster you receive an extra $5 every time someone signs up to become a Squidoo Lensmaster because of you and earns their first $15. Your referral link looks like this: www.squidoo.com/lensmaster/referral/MrLewisSmile (where MrLewisSmile is my username)

So how can you utilize this cool Squid $$$ offering to maximize your earnings?

Here are some ideas:

  • Cross your fingers, because every one of your lenses has a ‘Make Your Own Page’ link on it that is credited to you.
  • Add a ‘Make Your Own Page Like This and Earn $$$’ link in a module of its own at the bottom of everyone of your lenses.
  • Add a Poll Module to the bottom of your lens and ask your readers if they found the lens useful/interesting/entertaining. Put one of the voting options “I’ve decided to make my own lens and earn $$$ for myself or charity” (or words to that effect) and make the whole line into a hyperlink to your referral page.
  • Encourage your readers to send the page to a friend (and create a hyperlink to the Email link top right of your lens) because every email that goes out from that link contains your signup referral link.
  • Put it as a forum signature for the forums your participate in.
  • Send it to some of your friends and tell them why you joined Squidoo.
  • Make a lens about why someone would want to join Squidoo, and tell them to signup through your link.
  • If you ever create a second Squidoo account (or third, or fourth!) to better divide your lenses, signup through your own referral link!

Anyone got any other ideas?

Post them in the comments!

- Lewis :)

P.S. Unless the people you refer actually make some good lenses, you probably won’t earn anything from your efforts. So go for people who have something to gain by promoting stuff or helping their charities.

    Hi Lewis

You give great tips, I learn a lot through your blog.

Surprised by your last point above, create additional
accounts. Do you know that big squid is ok with this?

Interesting tips indeed, Lewis. How can I add the RSS feed to Bloglines though? :-) (So I can just read your words at my fave. RSS reader rather than via email?) Ta. Steve

This is some really good advice! I’ll have to do this to some of my lenses. I keep finding your lenses in various places… you have a nice collection.

  5. lewis, as allways, superb advice ;)

You can do some article marketing at sites like goarticles and ezinearticles and either use a link to a review of squidoo, a link to your lenses, or the signup URL (not all of them let you use direct affiliate links).

  7. Tom says:

Can we use the same email adress and account information ? When you refer yourself, do you choose “I already have an account”, or “I don’t have an account” ?
    Thanks for the tips.
