I tried adding a link just to Squidoocool, and it stripped that out too. But the link to my blog worked fine. I retyped 'em to avoid any problems with the reverse italic quotes, no difference. Squidoo seems to be smart enough that it converts any kind of quotes to straight quotes, also.
