New Guestbook Image

squidoo logo New Guestbook ImageI just made an image that I’m now using on the lenses I’m making for BuildMyLens.com, and I thought you might want to use it too. So there it is below. I used a really cool logo creator I just bought and I made a few for some different things.

The logo I made is below, and also the code for you to use if you want to put it onto your lenses. You can see it on the Tagging Tricks lens.

he image is hosted on my blog, so if you used the file that’s hosted here I’d really appreciate a link back or something else just as nice. But you don’t have to if you don’t want to. You could also steal the image and upload it to your website hosting and use it from there. I don’t really mind.

This is the image:

To add it to your guestbook module:

Visit the Lens Pics lens I made for this and copy the code. It’s at www.squidoo.com/lenspics

To save the image to upload to your own website:

Right-click on the image above and save it to your computer, and go from there. You know what to do.

Hope you like it,

- Lewis :)

  1. Lewis, that’s really awesome! Thanks a lot!

Hi Lewis – I tried to paste your code into the “Give Your Module a Description” box in the Guestbook module and it truncates it and doesn’t display your logo. What am I missing?

    Neato! I’m gonna do it.

My Guestbook module will not take the code you provided. ;-(

  6. Sonia Simone says:

After I add it & save, the squidoo module converts it to this:

OK. So I found out why the code wasn’t working for anyone. WordPress (the thing that makes this blog work) is converting every ” to to a weird italics ”

So it wasn’t working when you pasted it in.

I’ll make a lens in the morning about these images I’m making and paste the code in there for you to get properly. It will work soon! (in the meantime, you can fix it by going through the code in your module just before you save the module and changing every backwards italic speech marks into a regular speech mark.

I’ve been monkeying with it, but no matter what I do, the guestbook module strips out the a href pointer.

I tried adding a link just to Squidoocool, and it stripped that out too. But the link to my blog worked fine.

I retyped ‘em to avoid any problems with the reverse italic quotes, no difference. Squidoo seems to be smart enough that it converts any kind of quotes to straight quotes, also.

Sonia, this is weird. I can’t replicate what you just described. Maybe I’m just tired. It IS 3:30am! :)

I just fixed the code in the blog post. It should work NOW!

I’ve now fixed the blog post and put a link to a lens I just put together with the code on it. I tried it, and it works! It does! Really!

I wouldn't survive without this tool! I use this every day. It's one of the most useful things I have in my toolbox.

You type in your words, change the settings and colors to make it match your site, and voila. You have yourself a professional logo. Instantly.

See the SquidooCool logo at the top of this site? It took me about 60 seconds to build ;-)
