How and Where to Sell Your Lens
Did you know there are some lensmasters who will buy your lens from you?
Why? Because they know they can do something with it, because they know the lens will earn adsense income each month, and because they are absolutely obsessed with Squidoo. The highest price paid for a lens (as of June 29th 2007) is $400. I was the one selling the lens.
If you have a lens you no longer want, there are several things you can do.
1. Post a comment on the Squidu forum in the Lens Marketplace.
2. Head over to SellMyLens.com and post your lens for sale. Lensmaster Loyalis runs the site, and I’m hoping it will really pick up and start a little Lens auction site going with people buying and selling lenses every day.
So… if you have a lens you’re not happy with, or you no longer need, see if another lensmaster will buy it from you before you delete it!

What about the Lens Marketplace on SquidU.com? It really doesn’t make sense to have several different places to sell your lens - best to have one place that everyone goes to (i.e. SquidU).

I hate the poor lonely abandoned lenses! I look at them and see great potential.
I saw the link to here in the forum and had to come check it out. Great resource you’re creating.

Hi Lewis
I just found your blog. It’s turning out to be an enjoyable read. I’m amazed how many ways people find to make money, and now buying and selling Squidoo lenses! I wonder if they’ll invent a new currency for it… the squid, perhaps? (Wait, we Brits might get confused…)
Best,

And the highest price paid for a lens as at the end of June is… Congrats Lewis!

Hi Fluff, the different places function because the forum (when lots of lenses start selling) will become terribly inefficient. When auctioning off a lens, the auction site will be ideal. Squidu isn’t really where everyone goes because the ideal customer for a lens isn’t necessarily a person who regularly uses the Squidu forum.

Hi Linette,
Thanks for stopping by!

The first lens ever for sale at http://www.sellmylens.com will complete its auction on July 16th! As lewis said, we are really trying to turn it into an additional resource for Lensmasters. Bidding in a forum is just not that efficient. Putting your lens up for sale is free, and in July, there is no Final value fee either ! (this is usually just 1% to help cover bandwidth costs) Cheaper than Ebay and run by a fellow lensmaster, what could be better!
