The whole issue about back links and inbound links is one that needs careful thought. Have you come across any evidence to suggest that google or any other search engine looks at the context of the linking site as part of the value assessment as i have a feeling that links from directory sites just don't cut it and may be worse than useless. I always try to get links with sites that compliment what we are doing and shy away from these commercial directory sites. What do you think. While doing so, you not only get reviews, you can be favoried as well as followed. This has help my traffic flow. Every little bit helps.
