Automatic Direct Messaging

Sending a message to all of your Twitter followers is not something built in to the Twitter site.

To do it you’ll need to use an external tool.

The tool most people use for this is TweetAdder, and also SocialOomph. I’ll explain why, and how it works.

Because of how COULD be used for spamming it is obviously not a core feature, but TweetAdder makes it easy. [If you don't yet have tweet adder, you can download the free version from this link]

Once you’ve installed it and added your twitter account info you can use it to:

Follow new people
Unfollow old people
Unfollow everyone who isn’t following you
And schedule and send a Direct Message to alllll your followers

The software sends them one by one, and you can even set a delay between one message and the next, so it all looks natural and human. [Twitter won't be deleting you as a spammer]

One of the great things about the software is how, if you want to, you can change nearly all the settings and make it do almost whatever you want, however fast you want.

SocialOomph

If you want to send a “welcome” Direct Message to all your new followers when you get them, I recommend setting it up with SocialOomph.

SocialOomph will automate the process, so you never have to worry about it again. All you need to do is set it up one time.

You can write your DM, and even write a couple of different ones that it will rotate through, and you could include:

* A thank you
* An intro about you
* A link to your site or blog
* Asking their thoughts on your latest blog post
* Or even just a smiley face and a “Hello!”

I recommend combining both these tools, TA and SO.

You can use TweetAdder to follow new people, and unfollow them if they don’t follow you back, and send out “Broadcast” Direct Messages when you need to. And you can then use SocialOomph to send them an automatic direct message when they first start following you.

If you combine both the tools you can create a well-oiled marketing machine that can be run automatically, get you new followers, automatically send out Direct Messages, and put your website link infront of thousands of people.
